AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CENTER (AHA-ITC)

The American Heart Association (AHA) is the leader in resuscitation science, education, and training, and publisher of the official Guidelines for CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and ECC (Emergency Cardiovascular Care). It aims to provide evidence-based resuscitation education and innovation to improve learning, skill mastery and skill retention.

CPR is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival!

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) is an American Heart Association (AHA) International Training Center (ITC) for conducting and certifying ECC courses.

BLS trains professionals and lay rescuers to recognize life-threatening emergencies and perform CPR, AED use, ventilations, and first aid effectively.

ACLS builds on BLS, teaching advanced skills for managing cardiac arrest, arrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes with high-quality CPR.

PALS trains healthcare providers to manage pediatric respiratory, cardiovascular emergencies, and cardiac arrest, including assessment and stabilization through the PEARS® course.

Faculty

The faculty for training the above-mentioned courses at SGRH AHA-ITC comprise the highly experienced and dedicated team of AHA-certified instructors, who are critical care professionals actively working in ICU, and thus are adept at making the students understand the concepts better through teaching and conducting practice sessions using real-life clinical based scenarios.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital as AHA-ITC

Prior to 2018, SGRH was involved in conducting AHA-certified BLS and ACLS courses for healthcare professionals and conducted nearly 50 such courses training hundreds of healthcare professionals in the process. SGRH became AHA-ITC in 2018 and ever since we have intensified our efforts to train professionals in various fields in various AHA-certified courses.

We run a successful BLS training program for hospital staff on a weekly basis and have trained over 5000 persons in BLS.

The ACLS training is undertaken monthly (except during 2 years of Covid pandemic) and we have conducted more than 60 ACLS courses, having trained nearly 2000 persons in ACLS.

Apart from onsite training sessions, we also help setting up of AHA training sites/satellite centers. We have already helped set up training sites at Faridabad and Dwarka, Delhi.

We also conduct free community programs involving CPR demonstrations for increasing CPR awareness in the community.
